Hey all,
After browsing various sites with how-tos on softmodding for the past week, I came across a method that didn't require buying a game (Mech Assault, Splinter Cell, 007) or a memory card w/ usb dock. This method required opening the xbox and hot swapping the drive to my PC, then running xboxhdm to format and install evox on it. After some more browsing on the internet and tinkering w/ my xbox through the ftp, I realized that I didn't back up my original C: at all, and evox had replaced the ms dash completely. Is it possible to somehow get and put the original ms dash on my C: as a backup? I know that the clock issue isn't an issue if you used a certain exploit (bernie and something...), but I'm don't know if the hot swap method addresses the issue. If it doesn't, is there a safe way to resolve the matter?
I also read that if you accidentally update the dashboard through a Live-enabled game, it could overwrite the evox dash and screw up things. Since the evox dash for me is named xboxdash.xbe, can I do anything to prevent this from happening?

You may want to look into Auto Installer Deluxe which was written by DJB from HQ.
AID 3 has everything you need on the one DVD-R/CDRW for your xbox.
Since your xbox is already modded you can boot this AID3 in your xbox and use it to install whatever you like.
Just remember that since you have a softmod you can only use the menu options for SOFTMOD ONLY..
Read the manuals and tutorials,, There are tonnes..
last tip:
If you want just the M$ Dashboard by itself look for pirrups signature in our forums.. There is a link to it in his signature.. (HQ Membername: pirrup)
