Posted: Sun May 28, 2006 4:39 am Post subject: X3 Control Panel Bios Settings + BIOS Setup.
Gday.
Im having a few problems. Probably easily fixed but im simply a newb.
Now i recently installed a X3Ce chip and a x3 control panel into my 1.4 box. Booted it up, and flashed it using the newest Xecuter bios (3294). I dont really know much about bank settings so i left all the switches on the control panel off (ie they wernt lit up) it installed the bios and it worked fine except on the lcd screen it says "bios unknown", it still says that now, i have installed the evox dashboard, xbmc and a few other apps using AID 3.01.
I then decided id fiddle around with the bank settings on the control panel, i pushed in some of the buttons I cant remember which ones) and rebooted the box, and it came up with the flash bios screen, so i inserted the 3294 bios cd i made , and started flashing, but it didnt finish it just froze about 1/4 of the way along the bar when it turned from yellow to green. So i rebooted and now when i use the same bank setting it just goes to a black screen, no more flashbios screen. Ive tried it a few times on other bank settings and it has done the same to them also. I dont know what to do, can i fix them up? Also how do i get my bios version showing on the lcd screen. My xbox still boots properly when all the bank buttons are turned off, i think thats the 2mb bios bank?

ok
For the backup flashbios bank, hold in both the power and eject button on boot.
Then you will need to set your dipswitches to:
on
on
off
off
off (Flash Protect)
This is the 1st 1mb bios bank.
Then flash again.
Hopefully that will clarify the problem, you flashed the 1mb bios to a 2mb bank and its possible it couldn't correctly identify it. Also, make sure you flash the non-1.6 version of the bios. _________________ XBOX v1.6
