I had my xbox chipped by a mate of a mate of mine, and it worked fine, i could copy games, play them off the hard drive, i could ftp and backup games. But now when i turn the xbox on it just comes on with the green X. It used to boot up with a blue screen with an big blue x type thing in the background and a few menus like settings and stuff. Can anyone help me please?

Since you have a modchip fitted i think it would be a great idea to burn AIDeluxe (http://www.aideluxe.com) to a DVD-R or CDRW and boot it in your modchipped xbox.
Since the xbox has a modchip fitted it should boot AID first go and let you format and reinstall anything you want.
AIDeluxe has 70+ dashboards, apps and emulators all on the one dvd/cdrw and its free.. Once you boot in your modded xbox you can choose to install anything you like.
I would recommend installing XBOX MEDIA CENTER as your default dashboard.. Its one of the best up there with UNLEASHX..

Yes it's working again. All i did was put the aideluxe v3 dvd in and it booted up first time. I can now restore eveything back.

had it working, then must have done something wrong. It just boots to the original state before i had it modded and wont read the aideluxe disc anymore, also it wont read backed up discs. I think i might have installed the microsoft original dash on the c drive. Can someone please help me, the idiot i am.
