Can I put the grey wire on the back of the motherboard like in the pin header install? I have an xecuter 2.3b lite and a v1.0 xbox.

You can put any color wire you want if you need to wire someting. Different color wires don't function differently. People just use different color wires for organazational purposes. Such as red for power, black for ground.

It keeps you from getting confused.
