K first beforeI get flamed... I did search but after an hour I gave up as I couldnt find anything that answered my specific question.
A few months ago I booted up my xbox and noticed my EvoX dashboard had sorta disappeared. That is the b/g looks the same (although it could just be MSdash its that long since I seen it). but the only menu items are "MSDash", "Backup", "settings" and "reboot" (might have missed a couple there but u get the idea). Now I dont know what caused it but it looks like all the menu items from EvoX have gone as I still get the icon in the "flubber" screen during boot.
On to the point....
My box is still softmodded as I can still coldboot and boot dvd-r in the xbox with no problems. It just looks as if the dash has vanished. DVD-RegionX (dongle Free) still works with cold-booted DVDs (backups included).
What I wanted to know is, as the softmod is still there can I skip the first few chapters of AID and just go straight to the "install hacked dashboards" and then just use the ones for softmods? Or do I have to format and reinstall the softmod etc... Only asking as I didnt softmod in the first place, have no idea what mod it is (I belive the guy used AUF if that helps) or how to find out either. Once again sorry if this is a repeat post (and I dont doubt that it is) but if someone could give me clear instructions or answers as to how to go about it. I have read the pdf for AID but it doesnt say whether a pre-softmodded box can jst have dashboards reinstalled without reinstalling the softmod first.
Thanks in advance for any help.

n/m done it and it worked... so in case anybody else is searching this (such as another noob like me) then yeah... if your box is already modded and you just lost your dash (or parts of it like I did... I think the evox.ini was screwed up) then just use autoinstaller to put em back on. Handy thing was the filemanager in the menus as it meant I could check where evo-x was installed on my box negating the need to install as an app first.
btw great peice of software this will come in very handy.
