Posted: Tue Apr 18, 2006 6:31 pm Post subject: Cant play pal games with xbmc - chipped xbox
I used aid 3.01 on my personal xbox - installed xbmc to my c drive. I have applied the patches for scripts and for dhcp to my aid disk when I upgraded to 3.01. I have a pal game (black and psi-ops) that work when i launch them from unleashx (i replaced xbmc with that after it didnt work) but would and will not from the version of xbmc that I have an aid 3.0 and the latest build I could find on the internet 4/12/06 t3ch. I also burnt the disk and it would not play either. Only play right from unleashx.
When it doesnt work (it sort of boots but it is black and white - and it looks like every other line on my screen is black - so the video is screwed.
Is there a setting that I am not aware of? im chipped with x3 with 4294 bios - so I should be able to boot pal games. _________________ xbox v1.0

zues, try launching XBMC, go to programs, games, then highlight the game you want to launch, press the white button, and there should be some sort of option to change region... This is from memory, so i'm sorta sure that's how. Good luck _________________

I tried that but, you know what, I was telling it ntsc. Maybe its asking for what type of game it is - in that case I would put pal even though Im using a ntsc tv. _________________ xbox v1.0

Fixed!
I hilited my game in the programs menu and clicked on white button. That brought me to a submenu that I clicked on settings from within. That brought up another menu of options and I had to uncheck / unselect enable video mode switching and there was another option about settings for 60hz games that I set to "always use ntsc-m"
That fixed it and I was back up and online. _________________ xbox v1.0
