Posted: Sun Apr 16, 2006 12:58 am Post subject: Unable to softmod my xbox anymore with SID 4.0
HI...i,ve always used SID 3.0 with AID 2.11 with no problem att all on several xbox. But since i've lost my memory card i had to buy another one and put the new savegames on it for Mechassault with SID 4.0 Knave edition+ AID 3.0. and try to RESOFTMOD my own xbox.First , everything was easy and seems to go fine until i rebooted for the first time to see that i had no Unleash X install
ed as principal dashbord .Softmod appers correctly installed but only working with msdashbaord no matter how i start the machine.(same if i try to install evox)
Then i've try'd a couple of time to uninstall the softmod and restore msdash with succes and remodded it after every try.I still cannot have Unleash or any other dashboard to boot my xbox except the msdash .
But after the last try...something seems to go wrong because now i CANNOT INSTALL THE SOFTMOD ANYMORE because i had a ERROR MESSAGE every time i click on ; install softmod...it says PROCESS BATCH FAILED LAST ACTION WAS RENAME !
The xbox is still working but there's no way to softmod it again.
I think it's beacause the first time i,ve try to install SID 4 i had old files from SID 3 on memory cards and UDATA folder «
then i erased my memory card and put back the mechassault nkloader and nk laucher (unzipped) on it and after erasing these files from the udata folder…i,ve copie dit back on the hd with no problem.
Linux was loading easyly but now there,s no wat yo softmod my box.
I really need help please !

ergh? i got lost. but download aid 3 then extract it and transfer the zipped sid4.5 to mem card then save those 2 saves to the xbox . run the exploitable game and try to softmod it from there.
when you softmoed it and ms dash loaded was the led circle green or red? _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Sorry to lost you, but as you see english is not my first language
Ok...when i've finish softmoded it , the led circle was RED (steady)
The xbox was able to read any back-up but only from MSdash ( no other dashboard available)
I think i've made it worst with too many try 'cause now i cannot softmod it anymore : batch process failed...last action was : RENAME !
But the xbox is still functionnal and have acces to ''RUN LINUX''...( the good news i guess! )
And now, if i try what you tell me to do...do i have to erase files manually before proceeding to avoid mixed filed on memcard and/or UDATA ???
Because i think my problem came with too many uninstall/reinstall from sid 3.0 to sid 4.0.
To help u understand better my problem...please read my other post in SID section of this forum : PROBLEM UPGRADING FROM SID3 to SID4...PROCESS BATCH FAILED.
p.s. After extracting all files on a temp folder on my desktop...I dont remember if i have to include again all .rar files unzipped (704 Mg or something) in my iso to burn AID 3.0 or only the yellow folders (63 Mg or something)

if your led is red, it means you are modded.
i'm guessing what you didn't do, was to set your time on ms dash and save it, cause if you did save it, you should be able to jump to either evox or unleashx uppon reboot.
Hint: proof of concept.
If your LED is red, it means your xbox is modded, why else would you be able to run the game backups, but you want your other dash, you must save your time settings, but to get a peek of your dash, press and hold both triggers, black, and press the back button on your controler, and it will perform what we call IGR (In Game Reboot), and if your dash installed boots, than you know your in good shape, just you didn't read enough to know you must save the time in MS Dash. _________________ Xbox v1.1

lol nknave you replied faster then i did, anywys their you have it i think its a clock loop. thats why i asked if your led circle was red ...... just set time reset it and it should be good. some people said after saving time and date they just powerd off and powerd back on..... but hey what ever works for you. _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Thx for helping out Gus, but it's not a cloock loop, it's a no clock set issue, and nkpatcher along with the fonts, and the way the work, they must have a time set by user, so the times aren't messed up and newer games won't boot. _________________ Xbox v1.1
