My better half left my X-box on over night and when I tried to play it I got a ERROR 7.I want to choke her. Everything that I have read pointed me to the hard drive. In order to replace the hard drive it would have to be moded because I didn't have any of the eprom info. I bought this off ebay with no manuals. I think I put the chip in correctly I can get to the main X-changer page and move thur them. I get a green, yellow, red on power up. I have not flashed the bios yet. I'm not sure what I need to do 1st? Do I have to install AID 3.0 or anything else before I flash the bios. I do not play x-box live or really want to install any game on my xbox. I just want to load the disk in the drive and play my games. I will save the games in progress. Does anyone have a step by step on getting my x-box to just play games. I have been online for over 5 hours trying to make scence of this. Thanks Caveman

I check the power supply and all voltages look good. All cables are tight. I can get to the to the flash bios screen. Just like the instructions tells you . I didn't load the bios. I wasn't sure if I needed to load something else 1st. As far as I can see the chip is installed the correct way because I can goto all the pages and my controller is working. I have a unformatted HD . should I flash the bois 1st or load a dash maybe I'm not asking my questions the correct way. Thanks

Error 16 means your xbox cannot find the menu setting with which you can set the clock of the hdd. This happens to a lot of people that erase their hdd (original/upgraded) or MS dashboard files and after that they don't immediatly install the hdd but leave the xbox without power longer than 5 hours.
Solution: You may have corrupted dashboard files on your xbox hdd. Use the 'Auto Installer Deluxe 3' to reinstall your dashboard _________________

I've been trying to unzip the aid 3.0 and I keep getting a error. I unziped the the AID 3.0.1 without any problems . Do I need to run the xboxhdm to rebuild the hard drive. I put a new one in because my other would just click, click, and give me error 7. I put the correct bios on last night. I did this over the network. I think I should be ok if I can figure out what steps to rebuild the box .(hard Drive) Thanks I just want to play some games.

update your winrar if your having problems unziping, and you got a mod chip so you dont need xboxhdm to rebuild your harddrive, you can use AID. _________________

Ok I was able unzip aid and made a new iso. I put disk into xbox and reboot nothing happens. I just get the x-changer main window. I have a window that is the linux boot menu but I tried that and nothing happened either. I printed the instructions from the help text. I'm not sure what I'm missing. Should I be able to put the disk in and power up and it should run???? Should I get my friends xbox and make a copy of his hard drive??? Will that work ?? Thanks

You can try DVD RW, Did you use the iso updater program to add on the dummy file to the iso before burning it? _________________
