having all sorts of trouble trying to get a big hard drive to work in my xbox see my other posts
so i thought as i have a phillips dvd rom (picky about what media it reads)in the xbox could i change it and put in a normal dvd rom
if i pick up the power from the hdd power cable (put a normal computer power jumper in)
connect up the dvd rom should work?
what do u guys think

if your xbox isnt softmoded then you need to mod it first.
as far as changin the drive. the best one would be samsung ... theirs 3 for xbox thompson phillps and samsung . thompson being the cheapest and samsung bein the best.
i have a non tweeked phillps and it reads everything.
why would you want to change drive? if you put a pc drive your original games wont work on this xbox no more... and it gets worser.. ITS NOT EASY to make it xbox conpatible. _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

the xbox has been modded
been having problems getting a bigger hdd installed on xbox, kept getting freeze ups on screen at the start up
in the end i put the samsung dvd from my other xbox in the one i could not get to work
then it loaded up everything fine
the philips dvd drive i'got only reads cdrw
tried 3 brands of dvd and dvdrw
no joy in reading the disc

I had a phillips before iswitched to a samsung and it didnt reade dvd+rw but it read dvd-rw just fine

well on xboxhdm1.9 / C put retail ms dash files from pirrup under his sig > extract them then transfer to C folder on xbhdm1.9 put notin on E and put your eeprom.bin on EEPROM folder burn the iso and start the process on pc . _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition
