Hi,
I didn't know where else to post this so if it needs to be moved, that's fine.
I have a modded PAL XBOX. I think the modchip is Evo-X. I only got it done 6 months ago to play imported games so it's fairly new.
I felt like playing an old school game (NBA 2k2 on XBOX) so I jumped on EBAY and imported a copy from the US. Obviously an NTSC version.
I just got it in the mail. It's brand new and I put it in and the game is not working at all. It just sits in the drive and makes a weird noise. Then, a popup is displayed with this message.
"You need to connect the playback DVD receiver to a controller port to watch movies. Remove the disc to continue"
I don't know how to get this game running. I tried copying the game contents onto the hard-drive (like I do with all my purchased games) but it doesn't read the disc.
I then tried copying it using DVD2XBOX and it copied the contents but all I've got are some .vob's, etc, and it's not in my game files section either.
I also opened up my PAL/NTSC file and changed the system to NTSC but still no go.
Can anyone help me to get this running. I was looking forward to it and when it came in the mail, I chucked it straight in and then I get this.
Is it my modchip or is there something I can edit to get it to work? It's the original so I don't see why it doesn't work. Could I have been scammed and the disc doesn't even have game contents on it because I didn't think there were .vobs on game discs?
Any help is appreciated.

Well, my knowledge isn't that great with these things
I just checked the disc on my PC as well as another disc that works and they both have .vobs on them to begin with. I didn't know this.
Is there anyway I can copy the game on a PC like it copies on an XBOX and then transfer the files onto my XBOX so it'd work that way?
The game just won't boot from the XBOX so maybe I have to try and get the files on there somehow.

I've done some reading and apparently, PC DVD drives can only read layer 1 of an XBOX game so there is no chance of copying there.
The problem is, when I put the original game into the XBOX, it just doesn't read layer 2 (game content) and just reads layer 1 and plays that crap little XBOX movie. Why is it doing this?
Any heap would be greatly appreaciated. I really want to get this disc reading layer two but I can't so at the moment there is not way to play it and no way to ftp the files to my PC.
I tried with Craxtion but it just game me some evoX files. Not the game files.
