Hi there, this is my first post so please forgive me if its in the wrong place or something. I have a softmodded xbox (or so i thought) and have just purchased the surreal64 emulator on dvd-r off of ebay. I've put the disc into the xbox, but all i can get is "No Disc", has anyone got any ideas how i can sort this out? Maybe i didn't do the softmod correctly or something. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

i dont know about this cd you bought you may hve to use it on your computer and ftp it over to your xbox. but also there aredownloads on the internet that have surreal64 on it which work great. i got mine from torrentspy.com.
if you do decide to go the torrent route it isa disc that has multiple emulators such has n64, snes, nes, sega, and a couple others. and the best part when you burn the iso it works off the dvd like a normal game. i strongly recomend it.

Thanks for the reply, its much appreciated, i'm a bit lost with all this at the moment. I'm not sure how to ftp into the xbox, like i say, i softmodded my xbox, but even that doesn't seem to work right, i get no m$ dashboard at all now, it just hangs on the evolutionX screen. I can copy games onto the hard drive, and play games off the dvd's with no problems, but no m$ dashboard, i didn't know how to ftp the xbox when i softmodded it so i just carried on regardless, bit stoopid i know. I'd like to get everything working as it should but am a bit daunted by it all. If anyone can help me out i'd be eternally greatful!!

It might also be the version of the softmod you used. When I used SID 3, it wouldn't let me access it I could only use modded dashes. But yea, you should get your hands on sid 4.5 and AID 3.01 and uninstalll your current softmod and upgrade to sid4.5. And then use AID to reinstall msdash. Just remember not to restart until you have reinstalled your new sid4.5 or you will screw your xbox up. _________________ Moddingbandit

Thanks for all the great info guys, i really appreciate it. As far as the auto installer goes, how would i go about doing that? I don't wanna sound too stoopid, but i'm more into fiddling with pc's than xbox's. Would i have to download it from somewhere? I had an auto installer from ebay, slayers evox, but the xbox won't read that either!! At the moment i'm toying with the idea of getting another virgin xbox and trying again. As for the guy who does softmods and solderless chips, i live in the west midlands, UK, is that any good? Cheers again for the help guys.
