Does anyone know how to reformat the xbox hard drive, and use the softmod around the new xbox live update that doesnt allow to run the softmod?

You can use AID3.0 to format your C: and then install M$Dash files.

As for the second part, no idea what your talking about. I have used my softmodded xbox on live with no issues.

You'll need to unlock the drive before you can format.
