First off I am using a softmodded Xbox with Unleash .39 (Whatever the latest version is) ... The drive i am trying to format is a 120 GB Seagate HD.. Second I am using one of my External USB Drive cases.. with a Gameshark USB to Xbox Adapter...
I experemented with this a bit back and no luck Then I formated (or at least i thought) the drive in Fatx Via The XbHD tools cd i made when i put a Larger HD In my box...
When I go into Unleashes File Manager It sees that somethings there (for this example the drive is J) I click start and Choose format i click it and it says cannot format J:
THe question i am asking is What do i have to do to prepare the drive to be hooked up and read on the xbox...?? Any help would be appreciated

It depends on what you want to use it for. Do you want to use it as a big, big memory card, or do you want to upgrade your HDD?
If it is the memory card, try using the MSDash to format it, that should work fine.
If you want it as a new HDD. you are not going to be able to use it from inside your external USB case, it just won't work. You need to format it like you did with xboxhdm and then lock it with that, then open the box and replace the HDD.
