Is there any way to hardmod without a chip? _________________ Im surrounded by... STICKIES!!

Nope.
Either chip or softmod using software exploits.
But a "hardmod" would require a chip with a hacked bios.
Actually, there is a way and that involves soldering the TSOP points, now that I think of it, but I can't help you with that since I've never read up on it. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Honestly, if you have no $ but own one of the games needed to do a softmod, I'd say pursue that avenue.
Thanks for the info JackBear. That's more than I'd be able to give as pointers. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

HA! And with good reason, for according to what little I've learned at this point, to screw the TSOP soldering will make the Xbox a brick with no chance of recovery unless you bypass the whole nine yards with a chip.
May as well have started with a chip to begin with at that point. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

You betcha I'm suggesting that you do your homework. And NO, I'm not a retired high school teacher.
You know, it's not like every question hasn't been asked and answered a dozen times. I've asked a bunch myself but I try to research first so I don't look like a total Newb.
Anyway, be careful if you elect to TSOP flash and again good luck. _________________ Not quite a Newbie

There is another option to recover a TSOP mod, that is a 29-Wire Homebrew Mod chip. But those are a HUGE pain in the Ass! ( Can you guess why I have a TSOP mod AND a 29-Wire chip? ) _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!
