To restore the M$dash I booted the AID 3.0 deluxe CD. Then formatted the C drive and restored the M$5960 dashboard. But when I reboot XBMC takes over. I read here that you have to unmount the virtual C drive and do a Format Retail HDD. How do I unmount the virtual C drive?
Here is my backgroun information:
Used MechAssault and Krayzies NDURE to Softmod my xbox with Unleash X and XBMC. Do not get HiDef resolution modes in XBMC. So need to restore M$DASH to go into settings and change it to support 480p, 720p and widescreen.
I chose Run Linux option in the campaign menu of MechAssault DVD to get UnleashX dashboard. I chose turn softmod off in unleash X dashboard menu and rebooted. I get message 21 saying the the xbox needs service and to call customer service. So I reboot with the Mechassault DVD and chose Run Linux again.
When I choose option to Restore M$Dashboard in unleashX dashboard menu I get error saying unable to complete last Action:Delete.
Also when I choose Restore Dashboard from the Campaign menu of MechAssault I get error saying that the installation is corrupt.
In UnleashX dashboard I can change video settings to support widescreen, 480p, 720p, 1080i and save it. But when I reboot to XBMC and go into Resolution settings it only has two choices NTSC 4:3 and auto, both of which are the same(480i 4:3).
I have a backup of the xbox Cdrive and the EEPROM on my PC as well as on the xbox. Does this backup include the M$dashboard, because the backup was automatically taken by the softmod process when installing the unleashX dashboard? How do I restore M$Dash from this backup?
Help.

you will need to uninstall the softmod and restore the ms back up
or u can use aid 3.0 it has a feature to unmount the virtual c:
then restore the ms back up you made during the mod install.
Got it. Worked. Booted with AID 3.0 cd, softmod menu had option to unmount virtaul C drive, then formated c drive and restored M$dash 5960 all from the menus on the CD.
Thanks
