trying to connect two softmod xboxs together but they have the same ip address so how can i change their addresses. i think i have unleashx as dashboard.

Should be able to choose your IP through settings or if you have a router between them, simply set all to DHCP and let the router do the work. Another note, be sure that if you are direct connecting, you must use a cross over cable, standard Cat 5 won't work. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

i canīt get into my settings to change them. i know it sounds really basic but i canīt find the settings on the xbox. iīve got unleashx with the matrix"reloaded" skin

If your using unleashx, try going to system, then settings, then network. You can change your IP from there.
So you know, if you have avalaunch installed as apps, you can use those fairly easily. Avalaunch has a built in feature to direct connect two xbox together. Keep in mind what Shark2th said: that if your not using a router, you need to use a crossover cable and not a patch cable.
i know iīm a neewbie. but i canīt find the thing. going from the sytem option leads to four more options. Memory, Misc, Format Menu and Skins. Clicking on Misc leads to 6 more options. Stop FTP, Start Ftp, Reset FTP, Restart Network and Open and Close Tray. i canīt find settings anywhere!

unleashx 0.37.1207A Build 536. ps. iīve connected to my pc after following one of the tutorials on this website, so thatīs not the problem. iīve managed to backup MoH as a test too.

iīve done it! i copied the C folder from the xbox, changed the ip address in the font folder and copied it back onto the xbox. have now manged to change the ip address so it should be able to connect to the other. unfortunately i have customers in just now and have to wait until they leave to see if the xboxs will connect together. thanks for your help guys. iīll know where to come in future. one last question - how difficult is it to change the dashboard to evox or something? that seems to be the most popular dash
