Hey all,
Finally got my new HD in and running...turns out the original one I got was fried as no sys. would recognize it what-so-ever. Anyway, all is good now but I've stored my games on my HD to cut down on load times (stored them in the F:games folder) and my original game saves are in the E: folder. When I load up a game and continue the original game save loads up. When I save my current position, it saves -- but when I go to continue later, after I've turned the xbox off, it still loads the original save from the E: folder.
I understand I may need to change the game save path...but have no idea how or if that is even correct.
What am I doing wrong?

Does this happen with all games? What happens if you delete the entire entry from a game save manager(MS or maybe unleash)?

Haven't tried that, not sure I know what you mean.
While looking in my file manager, I don't know what to look for (game saves) when looking in the E: folder. I thought I should start there.
In my F: folder, there are only games and music folders.

sorry, yes, it does happen w/all games. Games that are easy to save like Halo 2 are what I've been trying it with. If I don't reset the system ro turn it off, I will be taken to the current save spot. But when I reboot, it reverts back to the original game save from days ago.
I'll go try what you said, to delete the entire game save of one game then try resaving new progress...

...Ok, strange but that worked. Great, now I get to start completely over in everything. Good thing I like 'em all.

On the topic of saves, one more question:
In my dvd2xbox program, I can save DVD's but I don't know where to save them to be able to access them later. The files I have the choice of are E:, E: games, E: music, F:, F: games, and F: music.

You can access them through any file explorer.

If you want easy access to them, and assuming its a standard game and not a movie, saving to F:\Games is usally the best idea, since most dashboard will look there automatically.

Yes, saving games there works fine. Where do I save movies to be able to access them? When I save in just the F: folder, I can access them in my file manager but I can't play them. This is probably an easy one to figure out...I'd like to be able to play them through the dashboard.

Thanks Gus! Yeah, it would have been Very helpful to know that the HD I had wasn't operational. And I was so careful w/it -- except for the time I threw it accross the room!! J/k!
It's been cool playing around w/all the functions and backing up all my games. The load times are nearly non-existent when playing off the HD.
And thanks for the xbmc info. That seems like it's been a lot of work and many projects are still in the works...very cool. Though I've searched xbox-hq for a download and I don't think there is one. It's just that I trust this site more than /www.xboxmediacenter.com/ Though I'm sure they're fine too. Thanks again man!!! Surprised
