Have you tested the cable? Have you tested the TV?
If you have a multimeter you could test continuity across the pins in your video connector port. You could also test the the 24 traces on the mother board to make sure that they all work. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

If you a multimeter, it comes with two probes, usually red and black. Red is positive, black is negative. What you want to do is visually inpect the traces on the mobo between the video port and where they connect to. I beleive that the video traces are on the back of the mobo. Once you've figured out the beginning and end of a specific trace, you can use th continuity testing setting on your multimeter, and touch the begining and end of the trace. If the trace is not broken, you should see the display on your meter change. Repeat 23 times for the other traces.
Have you tried either the advanced video or the HD pack? It may just be the composite video thats causing the the problem. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

Any part on a mobo can be damaged by static electricity, poewr surges, etc. If you can check s-video it can't hurt to try it. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

ok ichecked the traces but i did not see 24 traces, but i checked all i could find, i asked the guy i got it from and he said he had it hooked to a solar panel and battery, with a surge suppressor on the line, so the surge / static elect is not an option.
man i need to get this working, hey if you could ask around to see if anyone else had this problem,

Dunno how much you can try this person, but if it was on a solar panel it may have had under-powering issues.
So s-vid is dead as well. Makes me think that the video processor may be fried. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

so it the encoder bad if so i should be able to replace?
if not im screwed, if i get new mobo the hard drive wont work, i dont have a modchip that would problly help right now, crap,
cuz the douches i get the parts from dont know crap abput xboxes the just sell parts, so i more then likely wont be able to find the hd for the new mobo too, they sell hd and mobo combo for 25.00, which is a good price, god i wish i had a chip, or a way to flash the tsop without needing to boot up the xbox/new mobo _________________ Please post all PC Questions at PC-HQ.com

Ok, so it sounds like the issue may be that the point on the MOBO that needs to be grounded to turn on composite video isn't work. Are you able to test this theory with the HD pack, same as the other people? _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide
