I have softmodded my v1.0 xbox with SID 3.0 with the unleashX dashboard. Does anyone know if it is possible to run xebian or gentoox under unleashX or evoX? If so how do you boot linux from unleashX or evoX? Any help would be appreciated:D

I don't recomend Xebian much, due to the nature of having to either run live disc or installing native partition.
if you have an upgraded hdd, you may install gentoox under the loopback file install (not correct name), that will make it so it doesn't mess with your partitions for games and you still be able to boot linux from any other dash.
you need 4.5 gigs minimum on either E or F, but I recomend you use F, also get the Home Edition, as it is more complete, and keyboard is NOT a must.
It will install files on E:\ Including E:\gentooxx.xbe, and you can simply copy this file to an app folder and name it \apps\linux\default.xbe so you can launch it as an application, and that way you still keep your xbox for gaming, media and linux
Just remember to read the read me, as my info here on the install method is not correct, it's not called loopback install, cause that's the name for X-DSL, but it something of similar work. _________________ Xbox v1.1

First off thanks for your reply. You guys are doing good things.
So gentoox is the way to go. I guess I need to upgrade my hard drive then. This is good because I planned on doing this anyways.
I am guessing that in order to upgrade the hard drive i need some kind of utility that can create the partitions and the FATX file structure on my new hard drive while it is connected to my pc. Maybe you can just point me in the direction of a good tutorial on upgrading my hdd?

Since you are running a softmod you can follow many tutorials to upgrade your hdd.. You will need to use a PC but many members have done it successfully..
