I have succesfully got to the main menu of the SID 3.1. There is a screen with Backup/Restore, Install Softmod, Install Dashboard, etc. I chose Backup, Restore. Do I select backup c drive or backup MS? After that what do I do. I have read many tutorials but most are for 2.1. Please HELP MEE.

well since you havent installed anythingyet I would get Sid4 and use it. It is much better and is safer to use. But if you want to continue with sid3 you just backup C drive and ms dash. Then install softmod and create mod backup. Personally I would just get sid 4 bc it has the latest dashes, and safely backup the C drive, eeprom and ms dash. But your choice.

since my backup of the c drive is on the e drive should i install evox on the c drive or e?

I would put it in the E drive. Unless you dont plan to get live, just put it in C and it'll boot up fine. If you screw up, just reload the game back in and retry.
