Hi,
I'm trying to use SID to softmod my crystal xbox. I have an original copy of Mech Assault (not classics) and have transferred the files to the hdd via Action Replay. When I go to load the "Run Linux" game save the screen goes blank and the eject light goes yellow/orange and does so indefinitely - 10 mins later and it's still the same.
I've tried both 4.0 and 4.5 of SID but same result both times.
Any ideas would be much appreciated!

PS. The Mech Assault version is MS02301L so it does appear to be the right one AFAIK.

did u get the right one for ur region? ..... get new sid 4.0 fresh ones... for ma i dont know which ones u need.... but make sure they match ntsc or pal depending on where u are... i loved the 007 its soo easy..... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Yes, that IS the correct one.
Since actionreplay has been rumored to be "bad" (although i've used it flawlessly) here's what i'd do:
delete all the contents of the memory card. THEn put the SID 4.5 files back on it. copy to xbox, repeat.
if that doesnt work, i'd suggest another game to try, it might just be your xbox. SOME xbox 1.6 have the MA exploit patched, or so i hear.
I'd try again, or try another game (007, or splinter cell)

There's no region specific exploit for Mech Assault AFAIK. I do have a Classics version of Splinter Cell which I tried the PAL version of the exploit but that gave me a 21 error (to be expected I guess since it's the Classics version).
I'll try and get a hold of 007 or an original SC.

I've now tried an original version of Spinter Cell and I get the Microsoft 21 error code.
Any ideas anyone?

After you boot the game, go to "load save mission" or something like that..the saved game and select load from HD. _________________ Not quite a Newbie

Probably need the SID launcher gamesave. That totals 2 gamesaves to hdd. _________________ XBOX V1.4

yea dude u probly just putting 1 file.... u need 2 files total so u dont end up running with error 21 .... mb that was ur mistake since the begaining...

there is ALWAYS a region on the gamesaves files.. 1 is the linux and the 2nd is the gamesave with specifc region.... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Yes I've been copying the saves from the memory card to the HDD. Any existing saves on the HDD were deleted first. I've copied the launcher - whether it's the splinter cell or mech assault one - across as well as the installer.
I've followed the instructions for the umpteen tutorials I've read and all of them get me to the point where I load the save game and that's where it all goes pear shaped.

I formatted the memory card and tried again with Spinter Cell. This time I get the same as I did with Mech Assault - blank screen and orange/yellow eject button. It just sits there doing nothing.

that is werid.... if u got new files fresh ones everytime and not working then....

007 is proving a little harder to come by and at this stage I'd rather buy a chip than invest any more money in trying to softmod.

sounds good up 2 there all you would have to do is boot closed (evox or unleash dash) and then it should finish
then instal msdash with aid
sry im a little out of it (just if that doesnt make sense)

look its this simple once u have 007 or any other one it makes no diffrent... grab the ar pop the 2 files to ar and run ms dash delete old 1s and put new ones .... 2) put game , power off power back on with disc and load mission... and that is alll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! simple.....
