I soft modded a friends xbox the other day using AID 2.11/SID 3.0 and using Unleash dash, everything went sweetly having done quite a few already. But i got a phone call from him today saying that it had reset, gone back to the MSdash and all he could see was the applications i installed in the MS memory card screen.
Having asked if he screwed with the bios settings using the tray open option, he said no. This is quite baffling to me and i've never had any issues with xboxes i've done.
I've not got the box back yet to check what might have gone wrong but the only 2 options I can think of is that he has indeed screwed with the bios settings and buggered it up.
Or there is a hardware way of resetting the bios in SID or the unleash dash, i can remember there was a way of doing that with the Power/Eject buttons on one of my chipped xboxes.
Just wondering whether this could have been what has happened here! Could anybody please confirm whether you can indeed use the Power/Eject button to reset the bios using AID/SID3.0 and Unleash dash?

Sort of I guess. If you installed the dual boot mode with closed tray = M$ and open tray = Softmod. The eject button should change colors from green for M$ and red for softmod. Now if his box was unplugged the M$ clock may be asking for proper date and time to avoid a softmod crash.
If he sets it and saves, he should be ok.
Then again, leave it to a noob to find a new way to choke a modded box. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Rather than start a new post i thought it best to continue this one.
Regarding the above issue my Xbox which is installed the same way very nearly went the same way. I was in the Softmod menu (Tray open) and slipped a dvd in and chose 'Restart Xbox' and the xbox fragged Red/Green and come up with the 'Your system needs service...' error message.
I powered down, which took about 10/15 seconds and waited a few minutes before starting the box back up. Upon doing so everything was fine. Mod still running and everything working.
Is this a known bug or maybe the way I have installed the Softmod? I'll explain that if needed. I've had mine running for about 2 months now with no known issues. _________________ JAy3k1

I used SID3 and AID2.11 using Splinter Cell (pal). I ended up installing it with 'Nkpatcher + MS Dash' with 'Tray open menu' on C: drive on both boxes.
Why would you recommend 4.0 with a dual boot gus? _________________ JAy3k1

sid 4.0 has eeprom patching and shadow c... but the eeprom patch cuzsed some errros on 4.0 on pal boxes...... i would say single boot would make it harder to break the mod... 4.0 4.5 these 2 for for xbl as well.... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Ok, thank you for the information Gus. So would you say that SID3.0 on a dual booted PAL system might be the problem I'm having? _________________ JAy3k1
