Posted: Wed Feb 22, 2006 5:14 am Post subject: Xbox 1.6 softmod already done,next step upgrade hdd
Ive been out of the loop for a few years.I had a xbox 1.0 that i had a gen 1 modchip in, then did the D0 trick to flash the tsop, and added a larger hdd,and was happy ever since.
Recently my house burned down and i lost everything.Im slowly getting back on my feet, and the first thing i bought was a tv and an xbox...lol.
Problem now is i got a 1.6 and found out softmod, or modchip was my only route.I got a used AR and 007 AUF for cheap, so i did the softmod route, but now im unsure what steps i have to take to upgrade to a larger hdd.The methods seem pretty complicated nowadays.When i did a hdd swap years ago it was as simple as taking retail drive out,putting new unformatted drive in,sticking slayers disc in and formatting,install dash and done.So could someone please help me out?

u had a modchip that is why the hd process was easy...
u can do a chip to get the same process or softmod use this tut. i used it
and i recommended it to many users and all are happy ... u know the diffrenses beetween chips and softmods.. btw what sid did u install? or softmod?
if this seems too complicaed then u are better off chiping it .... but if a 14 yr could do it why cant u ? so what softmod u did? _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

I used SID 4.5 to backup the eeprom,and C: partition.Then installed evox softmod.Then ftp'd to xbox and removed evox and replaced it with UIX and renamed uix.xbe to xvoxdash.xbe and it works pretty good for a virtual bios and dash.

n e ways if u upgraind hd i would put retail ms dash from pirrups signiture cuz mb the 4.5 is stil patched shadow C which means fake C... or u can try copying evertying on C E and EEPROM... but i grabed retail ms dash files .... then my eeprom and thnen once new xbox was workin i ftped my E/udata tdata ... and my other stuff... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

LOL, yeah that tut is pretty easy.No idea why every other tut i found on xbox-scene looked complicated.
