Hi,
I'm about to install a Xecutor 2.6 chip and a larger HDD (80 GB) on a used Xbox (no modding has been done though). After reading a lot on how to do this, I'm still a bit confused as to whether it will be sufficient to use the AID hard drive feature format/prepare or whether it will be necessary to go through a lengthy update using for instance Slayer or as described here http://xbox-scene.com/articles/hdd-install2.php.
If possible to update the hard drive through AID, what would need to be done?
I suppose:
1/ install chip
2/ flash chip
3/ swap hard drives
4/ run AID from dvd
5/ format/prepare hdd-function
6/ install MS Dash and other dash etc.
Answers, corrections and clarifications will be greatly appreciated.

Looks to me that you have all the steps right. Besides it's always best to mod one step at a time and that way if something fubars you aren't troubleshooting the entire mod process.
