Please, forgive me if this question is lame, but I did search and could not find a specific direct answer.
Since AID3 does include SID4.5 now, does that mean that I can softmod a virgin XBox (no chip no softmod yet) directly with AID3? (The tutorial "SoftModding the Xbox in 10 Minutes Using SID" seems to imply so, but I am not sure I got it right)
If so, what is the purpose of a standalone SID4.5 (which is not out yet I think) that AID3 does fulfill?

ALL NON Micro$oft signed discs WILL NOT RUN on any xbox that isn't modded.
With that said,
You need either a Action Replay (or Gameshark) to load the 4.5 game save too.
Or you can use a modded xbox to transfer data to a memory card from your computer (but I am sure you don't have this)
Then , you depending on the choice of the gamesave (Mechassault, Agent Under Fire 007, or Splinter Cell) Pop in the appropriate game and load up that game save.

You will be taken to a Menu... Thats when you follow the directions on the tutorials, and install the softmod.
With that done you can pop in AID 3 for programs and more dashboards. MAKE SURE THEY ARE SOFTMOD DASHBOARDS THOUGH or you will Service Screen the xbox...they will say (softmod) next to them in the AID menu. _________________ XBOX v1.6

Please, forgive me for not specifying. I do have another chipped Xbox, so getting the save into the memcard is no problem.
My question was more about wondering if, having a virgin Xbox as target and having a memcard with the apporpiate save, AID3 makes waiting for a standalone SID4.5 unnecessary.

The only purpose I see of releasing SID 4.5 as standalone is size. But, of course, if you have already downloaded AID 3.0 you can go ahead and softmod your box with SID 4.5, dont need to wait for the standalone release, if it's ever released.
