I just bought an xbox with an Xecutor 2.6 chip but the guy said he removed the bios prior to sale so can someone tell me where to find the most recent BIOS and the easiest way to install it. I have Autoinstaller 2.1 on disc if that helps. If possible I'd like to install with a disc rather than connnecting the xbox to a pc.
The only problem with this site is there's so much detailed info I never know where to find the bit I need when I need it!!!

well they may have them on the regular d/l section or maybe in the VIP's. If you want to try, you may goto #xbins on the irc channel and see if you see any under xbox/bios.

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping to avoid xbins as it all looks a bit complicated! I looked on the download section here but even if it was there I'm not entirely sure exactly what I'm looking for!
I've been told by some that I should flash the bios and then others are saying be very carefull not to get the wrong one or not to screw it up as it could cause all sorts of problems so I though I'd look for advice here as people seem very friendly to newbies like me.
I've seen the responses some people have had on other boards and decided there was no way I was going to sign up if people are gonna treat each other like that. We all have to start somewhere after all! People on here on the other hand have been nothing but friendly and helpful so thanks to all of you!

Nope, Only cromwell bios is in our normal downloads area.
The normal downloads are more general downloads for the public and you will notice they do not have dashboard etc or anything.

You have to become VIP member to gain access to the stuff you want. We have VIP Servers and a totally seperate vip download area for those members who help support the site and keep it online.

Well you should always be careful and read up on which bios is best to use for your MODCHIP and XBOX VERSION.. Really ive found the EVOX M8 bios works great on all modchips and versions.. So go and try that as i know it works fine on X2.. Or you could download a official x2 bios.

Thats exactly why i spend hrs and hrs of my own personal time writing this site and creating it from scratch.. You will not find people carrying on and wasting bandwidth on our site.. We are a community of friends and are here to help.
Thanks for the reply. I didn't realise this was a Aussie based site! That explains the easy going attitude I guess! I hope to visit your part of the world again sometime this year. I can't get enough of the place!
Anyway, I'm not entirely sure which bios I need as the xbox hasn't even arrived yet so I don't know the version etc but it turns out I have a whole load saved on my other pc anyway so I should be ok. Once it arrives I'll double check on here that I'm doing the right thing if that's ok.
