Ive done a sot mod with AID3 all is well, now ive beentrying to upgrade to a 80g drive using one the tutorials by forahobby. Ive tried 2 drives that were not on the list with no success and now I have tried one that is on the list with no luck. Maybe Im doing something wrong.
I put my eprom bin in the eprom folder, copy my C and E stuff over via FlashFXP, create the Iso and burn it with Decrypter. (I dont copy my F folder it contains apps and I figure I can reinstall those with AID3)
Put my CD with ISO in drive, plug in my drive iwant to partition and follw instructions.
Then reboot and choose to lock the drive #3. I see the pasword for the eprom and HDD etc and write those down, and it ask are sure you want to lock it? Yes I say, then it says aborting........
Maybe someone can help........ Im fixing to check the drive with AIDA32EE

I presume you're using Xboxhdm 1.9, right?

When you select #3 to lock the drive, are you using the command "lockhd -a"?

No need to copy F: or anything else.

Basically, you can't lock your drive...that's all.

When you're set up on the PC, is your HD primary master? With the jumper set to master? Is your disk reader set to slave?

Have you tried <lockhd -p "eeprom string">?

-p command is grasping at straws.

HD must be jumper set to master on primary master IDE. I'm not sure it matters which IDE the slave CD reader is in.

When you install the HD in the Xbox the jumper must be reset to CS.

Good luck!

Doggone, I was rooting for you.

I'm having a similar problem, except that I can lock the drive. But when I put it in my Xbox, I get an error, "needs service."

Oh well, I'll solve the problem with a chip.

Sorring I couldn't be more help.

Ok I got it, I got ito work..... Very Happy Unbelievable the reason why. You how your suppose to type yes not Y when doing all the modding. Well when I got to the part for locking the drive and it ask "ready to attempmt locking Y or N?" I typed yes and it would say aborting, so I put in lockhd -a again it says ready to attempt locking....... I typed Y instead of yes and BANG it locked and worked just fine in the box..... GO FIGURE Question
