Hey guys, I'm wondering if you can help me with this. I want to softmod my xbox. I don't have any of the games like splinter cell or any to do a softmond that way. The only other way I know how to do it would be to hotswap. So I have Xboxhdm 1.9 with the softmod files to do a softmod that way. I REALLY want to use SID4. Is there anyway to integrate SID4 into the xboxhdm 1.9 cd so that I can just hotswap into my xbox then use SID4 to do the softmod part? I would really appreciate a response. Thanks guys! _________________ XBOX v1.6c

In my humble opinion it wont work.
You've got to be able to invoke Linux to allow sid 4 to run properly.
Now thinking that way, perhaps getting linux to run on your pc might allow it to occur, but it's way over my head.
Other input folks? _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Isn't xboxhdm just a linux boot disc with programs on it such as xboxhd, etc.? _________________ XBOX v1.6c

I've only tried it once (and i didn't inhale)
I took the c: and e: partitions of a drive, softmodded with SID4, and burned a xboxhdm disc.
It went through the whole building process on a new hdd. When it came time to power off, it got stuck in a loop. I did a hard shut down. When I put the hdd in the xbox, would only get to the X and loop.
But like I stated, I only tried it once. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

Perhaps T-Rizzle. And yet in all fairness, if it was possible, I would think that there already would be some tutorial out there on the net somewhere, ya?
Not saying it can't be done and for everything there is a first time.
Can't hurt to try (I guess), but I stand by my thoughts that it can't be done until proven otherwise.
For what it's worth. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

And the game you left in was not one of the games like mech or cell?
It was just some random game like halo? _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Cabbot, could you explain that a little better. You did a hotswap via hooking your computer up to the pc using xboxhdm and modded it with SID4 through the computer? Or are you talking your computer was already modded and you swapped a game disc with a SID4 disc, or are you talking that you just popped in a retail disc then swapped in a SID4 disc on a non-modded box. Thanks for the post but can you specify for us? Thanks! _________________ XBOX v1.6c

I have done it a few times!
If you make an HDM disk with M$dash and UDE2 (From XBINS) then run the UDE2 (restore M$dash 1st if you need it), after you get the UDE2 going then run XED for SID4. It took me quite a while to figure this out, because I don't know Linux very well!
If you need detailed instructions for UDE just let me know, I'll be back online later tonight. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!
