I have read the tutorials and checked the previous posts, but I cannot find any information on how to FTP to my xBox. I am trying to install a new harddrive, and I need to be able to FTP. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Get Flashfxp. Start up quick connect, install the ip address of your xbox, port 21, user name xbox password xbox
Be sure networking is turned on in your dashboard.

I get the following info when trying to connect.

WinSock 2.0 -- OpenSSL 0.9.8a 11 Oct 2005
[R] Connecting to 192.168.0.2 -> IP = 192.168.0.2 PORT =21
[R] Connected to 192.168.0.2
[R] Connecting failed (Connection lost)
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1

I get this error message after entering my IP and then using xbox for username and password.

I am using Evox and I looked in the menus for a way to make sure networking was turned on, but I could not find anything. I did find a property called Enable under FTP, and it was already set to Yes. Please let me know if I need to do anything else.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check your firewall and be sure it's allowing flashfxp through.
Be sure to have the network running on your dash.
It can work, we just have to figure out the block.
Verify you have the right ip address via the dash board.

The only firewall I have is the windows firewall. I just disabled it and now I recieve the following error.

[R] Connecting to 192.168.0.2 -> IP=192.168.0.2 PORT = 21
[R] Connection failed (Connection timed out)
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1

I edited my last post about the networking property. Could you please advise me on what to do next? Thanks

I have entered the IP address over 5 times. I disabled my firewall, unchecked anonymous, and I am connected through a router (which has the firewall disabled).

Could someone using Evox please let me know how to enable networking and how to turn auto detect on? Or could someone who is successfully running FTP to their xBox using Evox even give me a step by step through every property and its respective value? Thanks for the help.

hi cobra,

So you have a router with DHCP turned on??
If you dont have a router with DHCP turned on and DNS you will have to give your xbox a STATIC IP ADDRESS.

All networking settings in evox are in the SYSTEM SETTINGS menu.
Once you are in there and choose to change things dont forget to scroll all the way to the bottom of the network settings screen and choose save and exit otherwise it will not update.

im sure you will be fine mate.. We have plenty of friendly guys here who will help you getting it going.

I have a router w/ DHCP turned on, but I still gave my xbox a static IP address anyways.

I looked under the SYSTEM SETTINGS menu but I cannot see any property that would enable networking (at least to my knowledge). Could someone please let me know what property this is? Thanks a million.

http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/modules.php?name=Xbox_Homebrew&op=show&id=195#screenshot

This is a screenshot of the EVOX NETWORK SETTINGS MENU under SYSTEM SETTINGS.

You have to have STATIC IP set to YES and setup all the info below.. Smile
Then save and exit.

If you have a router just turn STATIC IP to NO and lets see if yoru xbox gets a ip address from the router.
