hi guys i got a few probs i hope you can all help me out with. I have the later of the original 1.0 xboxs with a philips drive. I have a few different problems. First off why can i burn backups the same way everytime using craxtion and dvd decrypter and work and sometimes they wont. My first three games worked on fujifilm dvd+r. Then recently when trying to backup ghost recon advanced warfighter. It will read so far and freeze. I reburnt it on "Pengo" dvd-r media and it plays but has a little trouble reading resulting in increased load times? What would be a good media to try? I've read in the forums that imation, memorex, and ritek g04 are all good media? all i want is to back up my games and for them to run normally. Im really frustrated right now any help would be appreciated _________________ xbox V 1.0

another tip.. Try burning at the slowest speed to see if that helps.. Then slowly bring your burning speeds up faster. Go buy a couple of brands of dvd-r for a couple of bucks and burn fast and slow..
You will find the perfect one.. Each drive is very picky.. But that link i gave you should help you a little.. its only a new section.

dvd-r mostly always works.... i know cd-r does work because i have a non tweeked phillps drive too....but they wont fit on the disc
however : i recommend this lil bit longer process but works...
get latest ver updated of dvd2xbox... burn ur game to ur hd ... ftp it to pc and make an xbox iso via qwix .... then burn the iso with a iso burner ...... hmm thats werid i'v burned games via creationx from the disc ripper app and its always worked for me... have u tryed those disc on other modeed xbox consoles???? try burning older games.. and if they work then g.r.a.w needs to be patched... well i just explained how to properly patch it via dvd2xbox....
1 question...... why not just burn it to ur hd???? its better faster (nearly no load time) and less problems.. just run dvd2xbox pop game and voila!
and if u intend to run this game on xbox live u WILL get ban... but of course u know this already... good luck

thanks for the input gents it was great... i would put it on the hard drive but i have the stock 8gb seagate... anyways im still trying to find the best media and its a pain in the ass... the old games work well such as unreal championship, tom clancy's r6 black arrow and counterstrike. Im pissed that the xbox will read the discs but it has trouble and the drive is in great shape. i guess its all trial and error, again thanks for everything guys _________________ xbox V 1.0

just for a quick work see if this works...
erase the contents of e/cache ..... x y z and see if the game works from their _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

don't mean to hijack this thread, but I have a similar prob' with my philips drive, it plays all my older backups fine, but newer ones such as driver pl play fine, but crash if I pause them for more than 30-40 sec's.
can you tell me what you mean by "g.r.a.w needs to be patched", and what deleting the cache files will do, if anything for my prob'?, cheers

to answer zxspeky question .... the crashing part should be fixed by 2 thi9ngs .... 1( file explore or file manager and check on E/cache the contents on E/cache not the folders....
thers also somtin called enigmah ntsc pal video switcher its complety harmless .... u'll press B a couple of times dont matter how many B is for ntsc users... A is for pal users.... this program can be put as a app and can be found on the aid 3 pakage.....
answer #2 for zxspeky a game has somthing called check flags and these checkflags have to be patched in order to run a game from hd or playing it .... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

gus738, thanks for your reply, I have tried doing as you said, but it still crashes after pausing, I'm stumped now, I can't think what to do other than change the dvd drive?

well did u try enigmah video switcher? its on aid 3 and install it as an app....
is this a burned game or retail???? and is it damge???? if it fits on ur xbox hd burn it inside to see if its playable... using dvd2xbox... again that on aid 3 ..... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition
