I had just softmodded my cousins xbox using SIDv2.11 and AID and it was working fine and then he wanted to be able to switch to the MS dash to change his HDTV settings. So I used the nknave patcher for the MS dash installation. It then asked me if I wanted to delete the C drive so it could install the MS dash and I accidently press yes. Now I can't even boot the xbox up without getting an error message(by the way the xbox is a v1.1 with stock hard drive) I'm not too worried about recovering the HDD because I'm going to upgrade it soon(I have his C+E+eeprom saved to my PC). I just want to know if next time I'm supposed install an evox dash to the E drive so that when it deletes everything from the C drive it won't be a problem. Is that right? Or am I way off? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you wipe C drive you will destroy your softmod... so obviously answer is no.. don't do this.
Just install everything on C..

well, since you have the c, e, and eeprom backup, if you dont want to use the old hard drive for any thing, you can skip the step completely of recovering the old hard drive and go right to installing the new hard drive. just use xbhdm 1.9 (available from here in the downloads).
go ahead and follow some of the softmod hdd upgrade tutorials you can find on here and you should be as good as gold! _________________ XCM Halo 2 blue case

Thank you guys for the reply but I'm still a little confused. I know how to upgrade the hard drive with no problems but which pathcher do I use? The nkl one or the pbl? A friend of mine used one of them and he has his dashboard as a program so he can get to it whenever. How do I get the dash accessible with AIDv2.11?

okay i think I figured out why the xbox is messed up. When I installed SID and it asked me where to install evox I think I chose the C drive instead of the E drive. SO when I used the nklpatcher(AIDv2.11) for the MS dash install it said If I was sure I wanted to proceed because it was going to delete the contents of the C drive for the softmod and MS dash install. SO basically I deleted the evox and orginal MS dash(C: drive) with no dash installed in the E drive. Hence no dash at bootup. Does that sound right? If so I know exactly what I have to do when I upgrasde the HDD. I just have to make sure I install Evox in the E drive before I use the nkl patcher. My brain hurts
