Okay.. i'm desperate. I know this is a known problem but there are many variations of so i'd like to tell you guys exactly what i did so that you can (hopefully) help me out...
Allright.. so heres what i did.. I "constructed" a xbox usb controller and bought a memorycard. Then i transferred the splintercell gamesaves via action replay on the memcard. Well everything went okay and i followed the rules reeeeally carefully and was done. Great i thougth, now i need a better dashboard, so i downloaded autoinstaller deluxe and installed avalanche on my box. Still everything cool. Then i got excited and installed actually everything the autoinstaller deluxe had to offer and noticed that when i rebooted the console there was an error message from a different dashboard than avalanche.. smth like: no compatible skin found. need at least version 0.3333 or something.. well i put the autoinstaller back in, rebooted and booted avalanche from the autoinstaller menu (boot c).. Okay.. great i thought but that error message still kept coming up everytime the xbox was booted without a cd in the drive. so.. this is where i messed up.. i thought i'll do everything again from start and just don't install so many applications and dashboards. and i - I know im an idiot - formatted every drive and installed the ms dashboard again.. yep.. i thought that'd work out fine.. well it didn't.. Now i see the error message 13 service required call customer support every time i boot the console. I tried to boot it with the tray open - no luck, i tried to boot it with the autoinstaller - still no luck. Luckily i can still run games and in some forum where someone had a similar problem they suggested to run live, so that the dashboard would be updated but i haven't got live and i really dont want to buy it if i'm not 100% sure that would work.. and i'm not.. cause doesn't setting up live require a dashboard? And yeah, loading the savegames from the memcard doesn't work either. So in other words.. im f**ked..
Please guys.. Do your best to explain everything as simple as possible.. Reeeeally simple.. So that even an idiot like me could understand it. And try to find a really cheap sollution, cause i spent all my money on that goddamned memcard. So i can't buy a modchip and i cant buy a new hdd or anything. what am i supposed to do...?

Can you re-do your softmod with SplinterCell or did you del the gamesaves? If you did you need to do a hotswap with HDM 1.9 and Pirrup's HotSwap tutorial (found in the Tutorials section).
I actually prefer to H.S. my HDD's, it gives me a clean install (I'm a PC Tech.) and you can insert gamesaves and other stuff in the HDM .ISO before you burn it. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

I second that you should reinstall softmod. I had error 13 last night after I upgraded my hard drive.

Suppose i'll try hotswapping... Well i obviously can't reinstall anything. Because i can't get those gamesaves on my hdd. i mean...how could i? Without a dash or a filemanager theres no chance to do that, right? Sooo... i think i'll try hotswapping then.. But thats really hard, isn't it..? Damn. But thank you guys for the help.

hey if u want to installed a softmod with hotswaping use this, Ndure Installer for PC 3.0. it has a option that makes a bootdisc with xboxhdm _________________

hey u can fix ur xbox .. 1st try this then if it doesnt workt then do hotswap or ndure for pc .. just as the guy mentiond..
try to re softmod by puttuin ur original game u used to softmod it then if the linux loads up then ur saved... now u can do this 2 ways ( once u loaded the linux of course) 1 is u ftp ur xbox right away cuz ur eeprom is thr which is useful for upgradin hds n stuff.. IF u have linux loaded then u have ftp acces.. copy evertyin from ur xbox to ur pc .. C E and eeprom ( u dont need d x y z) then u can drag retail files to c from pirrup signiture . then u can just take out the game and have full ms dash support.. from here u get the picture .. easy to erase old linux and put somtin new..
2nd way which is the easy fastets but if it doesnt work then ur gonna have to hotswap or chip it .. SO MOST LIKELY I LIKE 1ST MORE ...
once u loaded linux re install softmod if it works then ur good but if it says u susesful softmod it and u stil get an error then ur screw its time for hotswap or chip .. i hope my help is useful laterz.. oh and read carefuly on it as its kinda long but its worth it .. so sorry 4 long post.. latez _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Yeah.. as i said i removed ALL data from the hdd and installed the ms dash which - obviously - didn't work.. so theres no chance linux could work. Imagine just a xbox straight out of the factory without ANY software.. thats how it looks like... And if there's some bootdisc that'd be great news. I wondered if there was any recovery cd or anything. So.. how does this work exactly? And when it's burned, do i put the cd inside the console and that's it? It boots from the cd??? why doesn't it boot from the autoinstaller then?

see if u formate the hd n u got no info then well ur gonna have to do hotswap... it
no no disc will work .. since thr isnt a mod then it wont playback any unsigned code..

Sorry if I didn't read correctly because I'm at work and just skimming over this. You can run games but installer doesn't load? If so, do you have the game exploit to put back on your hd?

It worked! I had to try about 20 times but finally i got the hotswap done! It didn't work with unplugging the DVD-drive and then exchanging the hd ide:s... Suppose cuz there was an errorscreen allready. The code 13. After i unplugged the DVD it said code 12. Not 11 as it should. Anyways i recovered my hd, reinstalled my softmod and im happy to play my new "bought" Need for speed most wanted. (Great game btw..) So thanks again. You were great!
