Any ideas anyone? I've read a lot about people trying to get this to play on a modded xbox and tried various things but it doesn't want to play. I'm using a PAL version on an NTSC machine but I've tried it with the machine in both PAL and NTSC modes as well as the tricks mentioned by others who have had the same problem with the NTSC release.
Everytime I try and load it it just takes me back to the evox dash. If anyone can help I would very much appreciate it as I've just sold my PS2 version and I miss playing it! I'm especially interested to hear from those with a PAL version running on an NTSC machine but if anyone else has any ideas then please come forward!

Hi BigTommy,
You will want to look into a program called ENIGMAH VIDEO-X Selector.
Its a xbox app that is available on AIDELUXE.com (auto installer deluxe).
You can boot AIDELUXE and choose to install it as a application to your xbox and then change your entire xbox into a PAL or NTSC version at the click of a switch.
I used to do it a fair bit.. And i own a PAL xbox that is now currently always running in NTSC mode for HDTV..
So, download aid or just try to get enigmah video selector by itself.
You can learn more about homebrew apps in our Xbox Homebrew section here:
I launch PAL games all the time from my NTSC box. I usually launch from UnleashX or XBMC, for some reason my xbox automatically switches to PAL mode... Not sure if the TV is supposed to support it. But I think that Unleash has a built in Auto switcher. I've played Fable Lost Chapters and Need For Speed Underground 2 on my box for ages, and they're both PAL imports.
So give Unleash a try if Hobbs' method doesn't work... I've always had problems launching games from EvoX, that's why I'm glad I don't need it anymore. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

Thanks guys but I've tried both these methods already. Most of my PAL games run fine without having to do anything. The first problem I had was with Warriors but the ENIGMAH VIDEO-X Selector program sorted that one out. Unfortunately it doesn't work for San Andreas and I've tried with a brand new shop copy and also with a back up but it just wont load.
If there's any UK memebers on this board that happen to have an NTSC version I could try then please pm me.
If anyone else can recommend anything then please let me know as I'm sure there must be some way to get it to work!

You may have to turn off your IGR and TSR off/normal/debug you may have to play with these in order to get it to work. _________________

BIOS unknown according to evox. The xbox was bought in Malaysia and given to me so I don't know much about it although on one of the info/setting pages on dvd2xbox it mentioned Smartxx as the chip type. Does this mean anything to you as I'm new to all this.
If I need to change the BIOS then how do I know what to change it to and more importantly how to do it?!
I've played around with region setting, IGR and TSR but no luck at all!
Thanks anyway.

BIOS unknown according to evox.
If you install a newer version of evox from auto installer deluxe im sure it will identify the bios as it has a much more up-to-date evox.ini file with bios defininitions.
I did install evox using Autoinstaller only 3 weeks ago! I've also used Bioschecker but that also comes up as Bios unknown! I've come to the conclusion that the only way I will ever play San Andreas on the xbox is if I either buy a UK machine (which ain't gonna happen unless I wreck my current one) or I find someone who can send me an NTSC version of the game!
If however anyone else what's to try and help me solve the problem then feel free!!
