hey i was wondering if any one could tell me how do save games to the hard drive using soft mods, i heard it was the free DvD player....

There's a simple program called DVD2Xbox.. I suggest you get AID 2.11 at aideluxe.com because the program contains it. Burn it into a cd-rw or dvd-r and then go to the apps and install DVD2Xbox...... If you have any further question.... just ask... GOOD LUCK

I suggest you just get a new hard drive though because the original hdd is only 8-10 gigabytes. Just make sure you replace the eeprom also if you wanna get on live again. Me, I don't have enough money to get a new hard drive so I just clear up enough space as i can on my retail hard drive. The only app I have is DVD2Xbox and I hardly have any skins or trainers or dashboards. After all this, I got about 4.5 GB out of my E drive and I also formatted my F drive for an extra 2 Gigabytes. Thats good enough for about three games but if you have money i suggest you replace the hard drive. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T BURN GAMES THAT YOU DON'T OWN BECAUSE IT IS ILLEGAL: Good Luck

Do this ... i really suggest it..
1st read here on hq or any xbox site and get to know the xbox and its softmods and the full power of the xbox .. once u know enough then go 4 it.
2nd softmod ur xbox completely
then get a new hd to make using xboxhdm1.9 very simple ppl can help here.. then
withness the wrath of full power of the xbox ...
