I fudged my box completely so i got the dreaded screen and error number 21. To twist the knife i couldnt find my eeprom backup so i had to try Pirrups guide.
Anyhow, i get through to step 11. I enter "xboxhd" and then "1" on the following menu and i know the drive is unlocked all right. It displays the info about the two step process thing and then it gives me the message

No xbox-partition table found on /dev/hda
Any idea's? Do i need to modify and re-burn the iso?
Any help/info appreciated!

I tried the above with the hd on primary master and the dvd-rom on primary slave (with the pins on the back of the dvd-rom set to slave too) and no joy, I get the same message

If everything is backed up then instead of going for option 1 try running option # 5.
It will wipe out the current partitions and redo them.

f#&@ me, THANKYOU PIRRUP! problem solved.
I googled "dev/hda" and found it to be like a linux reference to master/slave settings. So i checked the connections again and found my hd was on cable select. I had just assumed because it was on the end of the ata cable that the jumpers must have been on master already. Nubcakes. Might be worth mentioning that in tut.
Anyhows, i read a bit more on xboxhdm and think another post-softmod-boot-disc might be in order (with the eeprom this time).
Now select the option, Create Mod Backup, which will backup your EEPROM.
This is the guide i followed when i softmodded my box a couple of months ago and i think its due to this line i had to try the hotswap recently. According to the SID documentaion that option just creates another backup of the C drive to a different folder and the backing up of the eeprom is actually done in EvoX.
Anyway, if its wrong it could do with changing. If however I'm wrong and the guides all right then apologies and feel free to delete this post.
