I did the back up thing although not sure if I did it right. I can put in a xbox game and play it like normal but thats where i am. I feel so stupid trying to find info on what to do with the new dashboard. I hate to be the 1,000,000th person whose probably asked this but what should I do with my newly softmodded xbox and where is the ultimate newbie guide on how to use it? please please help....I have my psp modded to plaY back-up copies of games of mem card and tons of other things but this xbox stuff is giving me a migrane.........PLEASE HELP AND i'LL STOP ASKING STUPID QUESTIONS.....thank you

thank you for replying to my questions. I think I should explain where I am alittle beter because I have other questions
!: I modded my xbox and have evox as a dashboard. I am also aware of what i can do with it. My problem is I have another dashboard package that I want to use instead but I don't exactly understand the files and how they work. the dashboard shows that I have 5 different drive letters.
1 has 946mb left and another has 1781mb left and the other 3 all have 750mb. where should I store stuff like dashboard and programs? do I backup to my main drive letter or put it on another. I want to installa dashboard or something that has abit of everything if that makes sense. also what should be backed-up on the computewr so if there is a problem down the line I have all the files that I need and don't end up with a big black lawn ornament.
i know there's alot of questions but I really appreciate any help.
Also some one asked how to mod a psp to do the same...well he's a short explanation of h, If you google the topic you'll get everything needed and let me tell you it is by far the easiest system to mod by far!!!!!!!!!!!
The only thing you need is a psp that has a version of 1.0 up to 2.0.
because the psp has a built in usb slot you just have to drag the right folder from the pc to the psp
ex......download the already pre made folders from just about any psp site
so you would grab a file called "fastloader" and put it on the psp under PSP\GAMES\....FASTLOADER.....the folder has all the files needed to run the small program off of the mem stick in the psp...than under 'PSP\ISO you would put a iso image of your game whatever it may be and load the fastloader program pick your iso and BAM it loads and plays.........I have over 30 psp iso's and am able switxch out iso games anytime I want to play something else I have a 1 gig card and have 3 psp iso games on it I also have a mp3 player effects program other psp iso loader 2 programs that will make a copy of any game put in the drive just by pressing x and it makes "backup copy in a ready to play iso" all by pressing x...very cool. I also play snes on it and blah blah blah...sorry I'm rambling...all I'm trying to say is it is extremley easy to run homebrew programs and back-up\ emulators....
and finally I don't mean to post comments about psp on a xbox based site...

SOFTMOD RULLS!!!
Ha! Bet you'll never see me do a hotswap or get a code 5 on my Xenium gus.
On the other hand, softmods have there place too. I'm just messin with ya so don't get defensive. And thanks for stepping up and helping puffy. You've been quite active recently. It's caught my eye. Keep up the good work sir!
By the way puffy, you'll notice that here there really aren't any stupid questions. The only time that things get stupid is if the person you are responding to fails to grasp the most simplistic explaination, then proceeds to yell at you for not helping. It's happened.
Then we gets posts of "who likes (admin name here) or (admin name here) suks... you get the point. Interesting about the PSP. If I get time to be bored and start new projects, I'd like to touch base with you about that. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

one more thing I would like to ask......
I've talked about all the different drive letters I have and the more i seem to use my dashboard....things like I restored my ms dash and re installed evox just to try things out and I've noticed now that I am continuing to use space on my drive...is there a way to put all of the "original" files on the pc and delete everything else and than reinstall the original xbox dash allowing me to start fresh?
I'm assuming I have double back ups on the xbox and things copyied here and there making a overall mess of my drive.
my over eagerness to try this stuff out and lack of knowledge has left me with a completley functional xbox but I'm pretty sure I've made a mess out of the file system

All us chip owners have to do is flip a switch to recover....out of curiousity...how is a softmod safer? I agree they do both have their pros and cons, _________________

I've been doing my first hardware mod (TSOP flash w/ switches on a V 1.1) It's been a pain in the ass to get everything just right while not ruining the Mobo. The softmod I did was A LOT easer and faster. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

see it just leads to more n more results that ppl r now goign 2 softmods..
THE ONLY THING i can think of that modchip is helping ... is that
u have full acces to ms dashboard .. and that bout it..
since modchips were first the best cuz the had option 2 have mod s and switch off 4 live .. ppl werere excited but over time softmods
like
sid4 dual boot = retail .. then its when it took over modchips... and became the best... CAn u say anthin against ?? or somtin good? bout modchips???? reallly im not tryin 2 argue i just wanna see what the benefit of chips.. _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

1. Chips have bios', bios' can be modified/edited to you preferences. Like "I don't want to see that xbox fubber screen every time I start up, so I can just turn it off." Or just change the color of the 'X' to my choice.
2. I could delete my entire harddrive, start up, see my chips OS, reload the HDD via FTP, and be golden.
3. Plug and 'play' options like LCD, and X3IR(i know you can do this to a stock box, but i'm talking plug n play)
4. I can add a new HDD in ~15 seconds
Like you said, i'm not looking for an argument. I'm not proficient in softmodding, but understand it. This would be a good thread to start, and get everyones opinion. TSOP vs Modchip vs Softmod/exploit _________________
