Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a try but this is a new hard drive that was I just loaded. Used the exium os to transfer the files from the retail drive to the new one. Like I said all the game saves are on the new drive. I did reset the time settings thinking maybe that was screwing things up but no luck. I am running avalaunch as a dash. I'll take a look at reformatting the E sector. Thanks for your input.

you will lose the saves ,

so reformat e:\ , then prepare it , you can do that with aid 2.11

then you can restore your saves , ftp

I have tried to backup 2 other games. Vitrual pool seems to work of, but outlaw golf locks up after going through some of the start screens. Thanks for the help. Hope this isn't what having a modded box is like, 2 out of three games are not running right. The wife is going to be pissed if I can't get Tiger to save. Thanks for your input.

oh yeah , i think i remember one guy having same problem , it was a bios issue, what bios are you using?

and the xenium transfer doesnt always work too well , that also could have created the problem

you can also try clearin the e:/cache for the freezing problem...if that doesnt work do what bobrownik suggests and back up your e:/, format it , then restore the files via ftp......

for the games not saving, try re-ripping the game to your hdd, then save...

Thanks for the replies. I am running Avalaunch (from AID) and used the OS V2.0 from xenium. Right now I have re -installed stock drive and am going to see if Tiger will save. I have read where the cache files can screw things up for the freezing. I am not very computer literate so was really hoping not to have to do what you guys call ftping and xboxhdm, but if she wants the game saves then it will probably take me a couple of days to figure out how to do this. I have been reading all the tutorials I can on the subject and I hope that I don't screw the box up. I appreciate you guys giving a newb a hand. Hopefully I can return the favour to someone else sometime. I have asked this question in another site and this one is the only one that had people that has helped or tried to help. THANKS.

Well here is what I have done. The retail drive didn't want to run dvd2xbox properly, so I swapped to the new hdd and reformatted it. Then I installed evox dash and Tiger now saves and Outlaw golf works. The down side is I have to get the game saves back onto the new hdd before the wife gets home from work. I don't think I can play Tiger game good enough to get the $50000 she had in money. I am going to reinstall the retail hard drive and then start reading on how to get these files to pc and then back to the new drive. Thanks for helping.

I am back. Update. I installed a wireless usb connection to my laptop and new wireless router to my main computor. I had internet connections to start with followed a couple of tutorials . Did alright until I was supposed to test ftp connection and you are supposed to put user and pass into the browser line Well I have no idea what my user name or pass (password???) is for my laptop as I don't think I ever put one on. So I have been messing with net work settings and LAN settings and any other settings possible, and the just of it is now my laptop won't shut down because of some setting that I have done and there is no longer any internet connection from the laptop. Had to pull the battery to get off the screen that says that it can't shutdown. This is why I would have done anything rather than star using a computor to do stuff to the xbox. I am about to lose it. Well my laptop has cranked up so I guess I'll keep messing with settings. Using the xenium tutorial on ftping. Thanks for listening. I feel better now.LOL

if you want to ftp using the explorer,

go to my natwork places and click add new network place, then type in

ftp://xbox:xbox@yourxboxip:21

then hit next and put whatever for connection name ,

you need to know yourxboxip before you do this

by the way the login and password to the xbox is : xbox ,xbox

Get flashfxp its lot simpler..

lol u dont put ur laptop info or such thing..

once u have flashfxp.. run ur xbox and make a specific ip.. then connec it 2 flashfxp..
if its going 2 router then u need a regular cat5 .. but if its giong directly 2 pc /laptop then u need a patch cable..

then run flashfxp and type in the exact number if the xbox ip...

and u should see it jus fine..

New update. I reformatted the laptop hdd and have the usb now working on the internet. But the wife is home from work so she doesn't like me spending 6 or 7 hours messing with this. So I guess I am probably done for the weekend trying to get the game saves off of the retail drive. Have to do more reading on networking. I am running a crossover cable to my laptop and then using the wireless usbfrom the laptop to the router . I appreciate all the help you people have been giving me. Have a good one.
