okay ive softmodded a few xboxes soo far. and it they went without a problem.
well my friend gave me his xbox for free so i decided to do it, im was using SID 4.0 i the the eeprom backup, ms backup and installed it with unleash x dash. now it was all working fine. until i turned the xbox off and went out for a bit when i came on i turned the xbox on and i got the ur xbox needs service contact MS. now i dont know why it does that or whats going on? can someone please help. i did everything as on the other xboxes and now this happend to me last night also and this morning when i turned it off i thought i messed something up so i somehow fixed it but i cant remember what i did. well i fixed it and turned the xbox off and it happend again.
also there is a clicking sound coming out of the xbox. can someone tell me what that is?
only difference i did now is i used SID 4.0 instead of SID 3.0

Clicking sounds, sound like a hdd issue, and i'm sure your error was most probably error 07 _________________ Xbox v1.1

okay well it doesnt reset itself but some times when i turn the xbox on the hard drive clicks and i get the msg contact microsft for service.. but when the clicking dound doesnt appear it loads into the unleash x dashboard without problems.
any ideas whats wrong with the hdd?

well, i'm sure when you get the error screen on top left, you'll see big white 07.
This is harddrive Timeout, either your IDE or your Molex aren't making correct contact, or you might have done something to it to become loose.
Too much hotswaping shoudln't do this, but unpluggin the molex can damage it, and well, it's reparable, but it still something you must watch out for. If you have a Y splitter in there for like some lighing mod, then check again that it's making proper connection. _________________ Xbox v1.1

no lightening mods or anything.. and the xbox hasnt been undone
strange i didnt see any numbers on the error.
