Looking for some help. I am in the process of completing the mod, and had it working with chip and new hard drive. It was not assembled, but it was functional, just the drives were sitting off to the side. I then proceeded to install the new control panel, and put the box back together. Completed that, I assumed without any problems, fired up the xbox, and was given "call for service" screen. I then immediately opened it back up, disconnected the new control panel and attempted to restore back to working state prior to CP upgrade. However, I am still seeing the service screen. Any helpful advice would be very appreciated. I was also curious about the wheel on the chip.. Any ideas on its use? Thank you in advance. _________________ Xbox v1.2

An update to my original post. Now with the external switch plugged into the chip I do not get the 3 LED's on the chip to lite. However, if I unplug the external switch, the 3 LED's do lite. And for reference, the 3 blue LED's and DO LED on the adapter are all lite regardless of the external switch. Any help is much appreciated. _________________ Xbox v1.2

As suggested in some other posts, I checked team xecuter, and posted this same issue. Here is a response, and my followup.
check the small pins on the chip and plug where the control panel plugs in are not bent have seen this before From: DJBOOBY
My Reply: Thanks for the quick reply. I checked the pins, and sure enough, one was bent. I was able to straighten the pin, and get the external switch plugged in, but unfortunately I am still seeing the service screen. I am able to set the safety on the bios, so I assume the switch is functional, but I am not seeing any output to the external X logo lite. Not sure what to do from here. Any thoughts? Thanks again.
This is where I am currently with this issue. Any other suggestions would be great. Thank you. _________________ Xbox v1.2

Given the error code, and some more digging, it was pointing to the fact that the new HDD was not locked. This wasn't a problem when the chip was functioning correctly, so I swapped the retail drive back in and the service screen was gone, and MS Dash loaded.
So my current situation is that I have all LED's lite, both on adaptor and chip, the BIOS safety works, but I get no output to the X logo on the external panel. If I had to guess, I would say something is wrong with the chip, but don't know for sure. Before all of this, everything was working great, so I am assuming the bend pin may have shorted something or rendered the chip usless. Is this a possibility? Are there any test that I can try to figure it out? Thanks for any help. _________________ Xbox v1.2
