Okay I am n00b at softmoding, done hard mods but this is something I wanted to try. I used the SIDv4.0 and the install went great. Now I want to upgrade to a 200GB HDD. I used another chipped xbox to load the HDD and it works fine in the chipped xbox. I need to know how to update the eeprom on the chipped xbox to the eeprom on the softmod xbox so the HDD will work in the softmod box. Right now when I put the HDD in the softmod it says, 06 can not unlock HDD. I put it back in the chipped xbox and it works fine. Any help?

Also when I go to load eeprom from bin file it says, error in reading bin file?

what you need to do is get a backup of the eeproms from xbox X and xbox Y to your pc ,

unlock the harddrive

ftp the eeprom from xbox X to xbox Y , use config magic to change the eeprom ,

lock the harddrive , use it in xbox X, ftp the backup of eeprom Y to xbox Y and change it back with config magic again

Okay I guess it is just me, that was not clear to me at all. Question I guess I am a little slower then most. I have backups of both eeproms on my laptop, along with a back up of the C and E drives. But when I use config to update the eeprom from BIN file it gives me a error. Where do I FTP the eeproms too? Confused

I think my problem is the eeprom is all 0000's when I use config to update it. When I put the new hdd I formated on the chipped xbox back in the softmodded xbox I get error code 05 or 06.

for what i understand u have 2 xbox 1 with chip and 1 retail which u tryin 2 upgrade to a 200gb am i correct?

Ok the reason the xbox w/out the chip gives u an error is cuz its not locked or wrong pasword.. what i would do is make the hd from scratch the 200 thou but use this tut as i did it and it worked perfectly fine..

http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-185.html

its very simple really all u have to do is get ur C ur E and ur eeprom to the xboxhdm folder and run it on pc w/only the hd u try to make >>> so dont leave ur pc hd connected.. once on disc type xboxhdm then press enter 1) build new hd from scratch pretty much its partition couple of yes and when it ask for F type yes then reboot once partition is finished and this time go to 3)boot to lockin /unlockin xbox utilities .. then type lockhd -a exactly like that then u should be cherry....

Thanks, I was trying to avoid using a PC seeing I am using a laptop. Knave wrote the tut I was using on, using a chipped xbox to build the 200gb HDD.
