Hi

I have a 1.3 xbox with an xecutor 2 pro that is running some custom x2 4977 bios that came with it.

I've been having a lot of trouble with my xhox that I think may be due to running an old bios, since I've tried reinstalling pretty much everything except that. Part of the problem is that I can't load any new builds of XBMC or any autoinstaller newer than slayers. Since I really don't want to flash my chip, I was hoping to use PBL from AID2.11 to try booting into a new bios to see if that solves any of my problems.

Since I can't get AID2.11 to boot, what I would like to do is a manual install of PBL. I've extracted the AID iso, but have no idea what I'm supposed to do with the PBL files that are there. The bios i'm running currently boots evoxdash.xbe from C:, so I assume i'm supposed to replace that evoxdash.xbe with pbl or something. I've searched around and can't seem to find any guides on installing PBL. I guess I suck at google Smile

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Smile

For one thing dont use PBL, its for the exploits so the users can use a modified BIOS on an unmodded Xbox, Your best bet is update your bios and see if that works.

I dont' think hacked bios will allow pbl to load another hacked bios.

just reflash your chip, it's not that hard.

Get Evox with your new bios and correct size on bios folder like this

evoxdash.xbe
bios\bios.bin
skin\blah blah

boot evox, choose to flash bios, and you'll select your bios you made, and it's that easy to flash.

Thanks for the quick responses guys.

The AID2.11 Documentation under advanced options says:
Code:

Phoenix BIOS Loader (PBL)

What this does is boot a BIOS file from your Hard Drive, instead of completely using the BIOS on a modchip. This is good if you have an outdated BIOS that doesn’t have the greatest support for IGR (In-Game Reset) like mine does.

The BIOS included in this package is the EvoX M8+, and I’ve pre-configured it so it has the Eject Fix and LBA48 (larger hard drives over 120 gigabytes) support.

This is exactly what I wanted to do, since I'd really rather not open my xbox to disable flash protection (i don't have the required screwdrivers anyway) so i can flash my bios. There must be a way to do a manual install of this?
