Hello,

I have got aid 2.11 installed and everything with evox dash and m8+(bank1) on my xbox 1.0 w/ 2.6ce. The problem I'm having though is that whenever I'm in the dash and go to Play game/dvd or when I launch any application the dash will just sit on the "Loading Please Wait" screen. I've tried reinstalling the dash(same dash and tried other dashes) and that hasn't helped. I have tried reinstalling the applications too but that didn't help.

I thought maybe it was my aid2.11 dvd might have been burned bad and that maybe the applications were screwed up so I burned another dvd without a dummyfile and installed apps over again and that still didn't help.

Any ideas?

I'm thinking I might have to reformat the entire retail hd because maybe things got installed incorrectly and I can't uninstall them from what I've seen so ya I'm stumped. Thanks in advance and have a great new years!

P.s.- I was just browsing around the dash and noticed that it shows the applications under the game saves menu is that a way to uninstall them ?

Ok so I've been sitting around trying to think of why it might not be loading the games or applications. I came up with one weird idea let me know what you think.

When I first used aid2.11 to install the dashboard(which i did before the games) I followed some instructions which told me to install the dashboard to E: since I have the retail HD only. So I did that but the dashboards wouldn't load on startup and it would just keep going to the regular msdash. So then I installed the dashboards to C: (Evox dash to be exact) and now it loads the dash fine but maybe the box is loading the evox dash from the c: where no programs are when it should be loading the dashboard from e: so it could run the programs on e: ? My thought there is that the dash has to be on the same as the games/programs? I dunno. Any help would be brilliant Smile

It depends what dashbaord you installed.

If you installed say EVOX DASHBOARD to your xbox C: drive then you will have to probably open EVOX.INI and edit it in notepad on your PC.

You want to look for this line:
Code:

AutoAddItem "e:\games";

Something like that.. what you want to do is add a AutoAddItem line for each directory you have on your xbox you want scanned for games.. The same works for emulators and programs.. You will see this in the evox.ini

or you could just install a better dashboard like UNLEASHX which automatically scans.

hope that helps and enjoy the site.

Well I took a look at the evox.ini that's on my c: and it looks good to me what do you think? I've looked at some evox.ini's that I found by searching on here only real difference I could find was everyone else's showed lowercase drive letters IE: "e:\apps\DVDX\default.xbe" but mine are all uppercase which I just don't see being a problem but that's the only thing I saw in there that was obviously different. One more thing I noticed that the dvd player points to E:\apps\DVDX\ to play dvd's and such yet I don't have that folder/files on my e: drive so that is probably why my thing won't load the xbox game cd's. Anyone know where I can get that dvdx ? Also I don't have E:\HDDLoader\ I dunno if that is needed too.

YOU NEED TO INSTALL DVD-X to your E:\ drive using Auto Installer Deluxe (http://www.aideluxe.com). Then it will work fine..

If you get one of the latest Xbox Media Centers they are now supporting DVD's in the XBMC.. Smile

Everything you need is on the Auto Installer Deluxe.. Get it..
Burn to DVD-R and not +r otherwise it will take ages to find the right media.

First I would like to say I hope you all had a great new years. Now back to the problem Smile Anyway I have tried editing the ini and it looks perfect and everything is pointing to the right spots but yet no matter what dash I use it still freezes on the "Loading Please Wait" screen when I try to load apps/dvd or game media in the tray/etc.. Now I'm officially stumped.
