Hello all and thanks in advance for any help!
here is my story, lol.
I just got into softmodding about 1 month ago. My friend transfered the SID v2.0 or 2.1 softmod install pack. I must say that it works perfect, too perfect. Everything runs as planned, I never use xbox live. I got curious as to what exactly is going on, what i am using and posted in the xbox-scene.com forums. Krayzie, replied to my question and said that the SID 2.1 is potentially dangerous. This got my interest. I have never had a problem with SID, and softmodded 3 v1.6 xboxs'. I backed up the eeprom, with images of C and E <-- saved them onto a separate CD-R.
I just upgraded my harddrive to a 160 segate using the linux tools, hdm linux "sp?" pack. G formatted with UnleashX with no problems. I can use all my drive.
So really my question is, is SID 2.1 a bad softmod? or is Krayzie biased because he has his own softmod package? What are the benifits of upgrading to SID 4.0? or even SID 3.0?
I just want the most reliable softmod without xbox live.
