I have a bizzare problem and I'm now at my wits end. I don't know if it's an issue with the softmod, XBMC, or something else.
Here is a little background.
I softmodded my XBOX with SID 4.0 with the original HD and ran XBMC as my primary Dashboard. Using this configuration, I had XBMC grab an IP address using DHCP. On my router, I grabbed the MAC address from the XBOX to assign a static IP address (the reason I'm doing this is because XBMC is having problems using static IP and my DNS for some reason). So everything using this configuration is good.
I then upgraded my XBOX HD using the instructions from the SID 4.0 manual, reinstalled the softmod and XBMC and now everytime I reboot the XBOX, it uses a different MAC address.
I have no idea why and at this point, I'm asking for help. Thanks.

This is very odd, since SID 4 doesn't mess with the mac address.
MAC Address is set on the xbox eeprom, and if it's the same real/virtual eeprom you should have it.
Now, if your using the same xbox, you should have same MAC. _________________ Xbox v1.1

I think it might be an issue with eeprom. When I use Avalaunch, I can see the "true" MAC address but when I run XBMC after the upgraded HD, the MAC address is masked.

Try different dashboards, mb it's just xbmc that has it to overide or something, but if it's not broken, don't fix it.
Try downloading skins with AVA, UnleashX, ftp to another xbox (if you have another), and downloading stuff off mimesis and see if it actually connects.
MAC addresses are important, but if your not having problems with the above, why worry?
TIP: Make sure your main dash is set to DHCP or else Mimesis will not connect. _________________ Xbox v1.1
