Posted: Tue Dec 27, 2005 9:35 pm Post subject: Can't install SID 4.0... atleast I can't figure it out.
So I was trying to install SID 4... and I wanted to revert to retail and then install the new softmod... When I restored my MS backup.... I get an error booting, with no number.... it says contact costumer service... I fixed it with xboxhdm and reverted to SID 2... I have no idea how to go about installing the newer SID now... or why my ms backup is flaky... did I do something wrong when creating the backup? I even had a backup on my comp, I tried that with xboxhdm and it gave me the same error...

Okay so I took a look at my MS and MOD backups... they're 180 and 177.8 respectively...
They both of Bert Generic files in the fonts folder and SID folders, along with evox inis, and some other stuff I suppose shouldn't be there....
I made a xboxhdm disc with what I thought to be an msdash that was clean... it has:
Audio folder
Fonts folder
Xbox Book
Xbox
Settings_adoc.xip
Xboxdash.xbe
Xboxdashdata.185ead00 folder
Xodash folder
This did not work and gave me an error when I reformated the c with it... what the hell is going on. Does it need an eeprom folder or something... losing me mind!...
I tried slayers a while ago... when I installed the msdash from it, my xbox gave me an error ( no number) so I just reinstalled SID 2 and forgot about it... could someone show me what a useable MS folder contains...

find a post of pirrup's, and download it from under his sig.
It's dash 5960, newest, and it should work all the way.
don't loose your mind over some simple stuff, and make sure you read before you install.
