It went without a hitch. Everything works good. Now I want to tweak it all a bit.
I installed the xbox media center on the C drive. I can boot to it with the AID disk in, after choosing boot dashboards on C drive. But I would like to boot to the xbox media center when I turn the xbox on, without having the disk in. I've read on the forums that putting it on the C drive is the fix. But thats exactly where i have it at. I've searched and read alot of good stuff, and maybe I'm just overlooking something. But I simply cannot find the answer I'm looking for.
Any help would be appreciated because I'll be doing the same thing to a friend's xbox tomorrow.
Thanks again and you all rock.

I figured it out.
I followed the initial install text to the letter, which meant I had installed the original ms dashboard as well.
I copied the default.xbe from the C:\XMBC folder to the root of the C drive. I also verified I had a copy of the xboxmediacenter xml document in the root as well. So I have copies of the default.xbe and xboxmediacenter.xml in the C:\XMBC and the root.
In the root of C:\ , I renamed the msdash.xbe to msdash1.xbe (in case I need it later), and renamed the default.xbe to msdash.xbe. I then rebooted and "poof" it all works great.
I am so happy. Thanks for the responses and hope this helps someone out in the future.
