I just softmodded my us xbox. If I buy and backup a PAL game to the hd, can I play it?

yes, that's all I really mess with is softmods and have a few PAL imports myself (NFSU2 and Fable: The Lost Chapters). They both play fine, but if you have NTSC saves, they won't work with the PAL version, they'll create a whole new master save.
