I reciently softmodded my xbox with mechassalt and EvoX, and everything worked fine until I tried to play a game (Ghost Recon 2) on Xbox Live. Since I had never played this game on Live, it told me it would perform an autoupdate, and it would exit to the microsoft dashboard to do this. But instead of doing this an error message came up telling me to contact Microsoft support. Does anyone know how to fix this probelm so I can play this game on Live?

1.- upgrade your softmod, if you have older softmods, xbox live! will update and nuke your softmod, leading to.......pretty much what you got.
2.- never go on xbox live with softmods (why don't ppl get it???)
3.- you can boot the game you used to softmod it, and reinstall softmod, or you'll have to do a hotswap (look at pirrups sig)
4.- i suggest upgrading your softmod to SID 4.
SID 4 will have an option where you can install softmod, and by powering your xbox with dvd tray open, will boot to retail state allowing you to play ONLY ORIGINAL GAMES, on xbox live!, of course you must have your xbox live account made before installing the softmod, or you can't make an account after, you'll have to temporarly uninstall and reinstall after account is made.

NO, the softmods are installed fine, it is just that they force the Xbox Live dashboard to not work. If I can download the autoupdate from somewhere on the internet then I could FTP it to the Xbox and Live would work fine. I know this because I had the autoupdate for Halo installed before I softmodded, and Halo works fine on Live.

At the moment Live will not work with softmods. You'll have to wait for that or go back to the original dash. If you want to game on line like that look in to XLink Kai or xbconnect. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

Hopefully softmods will never work on Live, or backups. One of reasone MS doesn't come so hard after modders is because we don't F: with the cash cow known as Live.
