Hi, I was hoping my first post on this site wouldn't be a problem but Im afraid I am a twat and have managed to wreck my xbox. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out. I was installing a new dash on my E: drive just as an alternative to avalaunch on C: using AID but being the clown that I am; turned it off while it was installing. It now flashes red and green and has error 21. It will not boot the dash. I can get splinter cell to load and Ive heard there is a way to fix it using this game but I do not have the game save which is needed. I cannot ftp either (dash wont boot) so I cant copy my files over from my pc as I did back up my xbox system. Is there any programs out there that can be used as a recovery disk? Is there any way of ftp'ing without the dash loaded? Please help me. Please excuse my idiocy!

how about try to boot AID again, since it's only dash problem your softmod should stay active, so power on, put AID disc as fast as you can, and hopes it boots, if it does, than just reinstall your dashboard from there, if not your gonna have to hotswap.

Tried that already with no success. I burned a new copy of AID in the hope that it was the first disk that had the problem but to no avail. The only disk I can get to boot is Splinter Cell and I don't have a clue how to sort it using that if it can be done at all. Cheers anyway!

Cheers matey, I'll give it a bash. Looks a bit complicated but I do like fanny about with things hence the reason my xbox is goosed in the first place. Your help is much appreciated.

np, hek, i got bigger job to do to fix my xbox.
i fried that 1 transistor on the 1.6 mobo, i must replace it, it's not that hard, it's just that the piece is so small
anyways, good luck on the hotswap, it's not hard at all, and it's 100% to work.
p.s: some ppl have problems rebuilding' their C partition with this tool, if you can't get it to work, you can use it's built-in xbrowser, it's the file manager, you can just delete files on C, and copy the new ones from disc.

Need some more wizardry from you folks. Got the hard drive hotswapped but I don't get error 11 on the xbox I get error 7 and the linux program cant do anything cos the hard drive is locked. Can anyone tell me how to unlock it or what my next step should be. Thanks!
