First let me say i'm a total noob to upgrading XBox HD's. and thanks for your help.

ok i have a Xbox Ver 1.0, Stock Bios, and no mod chip.

i Softmoded my xbox but i want to add a bbigger HD to it. i use the Tut on this site "Install Larger Hard-Drive into SoftModded Xbox" url http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-185.html

The HD i want to use is a Seagate Barracuda 160GB model# ST3160021a

After i go through the steps on the tut and i go to install the HD in the xbox. when i power it up i get the Serviice required screen with 05 in the upper left.

do i need to update my bios or something?

if i would have looked through the forum and read Sticky "XBOX ERROR CODES EXPLAINED" i would have seen that the HD failed to lock the Ffirst time lol i relocked it and now it works great Site.
